Apparently.<\/p>\n

Clearly, some people in this world simply can not handle my frank level of honesty. \u00a0In today\\’s society, we\\’re far<\/em> too sanitized! \u00a0Everyone is too fucking scared to truly speak their mind for fear of offending someone or something.<\/p>\n

Except for me that is. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Here\\’s the\u00a0bottom\u00a0line: chances are I\\’m saying exactly what you yourself are thinking, but lack the balls to say. \u00a0I don\\’t go out of my way to be offensive (believe it or not, stop snickering!) and I also\u00a0posses the ability to keep my mouth shut when the situation calls for it &\u00a0occasionally\u00a0posses\u00a0the ability to be tactful. \u00a0However I refuse to sit there and not speak up because I\\’m afraid that you\\’ll be\u00a0offended. \u00a0If you\\’re\u00a0entitled\u00a0to an opinion, why aren\\’t I? \u00a0Why is it that I am expected to be respectful of your<\/em> opinions, thoughts and beliefs but you can\\’t find it within yourself to be respectful of mine<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The bottom line?<\/p>\n

I speak my mind because it hurts to bite my tongue.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Religion\u00a0and politics are always two hot button topics.
\nEspecially the catholic religion…<\/p>\n

Now don\\’t get me wrong, I\\’m NOT hating on anyone\\’s belief\\’s. Nor am I saying that this is a universal opinion of anyone who chooses to partake in organized religion either. \u00a0I\\’m very curious and respectful of anyone\\’s cultural\/religious\u00a0belief\\’s and often make inquires to such. \u00a0Whatever brings you hope or comfort, get\\’s you through the day is OK by me. \u00a0More often than not, I enjoy these conversations. \u00a0Some of the rituals surrounding various cultures and\u00a0religions\u00a0are not only thought provoking, but symbolic in a heart felt way. \u00a0I\\’m very fortunate to be friends and work with people who are various cultures and religions and they are very patient when it comes to indulging my curiosity and I love them for it!<\/p>\n

I\\’m technically a Roman Catholic. \u00a0I\\’ve since denounced my religion and prefer to refer to myself as a non denominational person if asked. \u00a0I\\’m sure that my nannies are\u00a0spinning\u00a0in their graves (sorry\u00a0nannies, I love you and no disrespect!). \u00a0I have my own set of belief\\’s that I choose to keep to myself. \u00a0Because really, it\\’s of no concern to anyone but myself. \u00a0That brings me forth to today. \u00a0I was in the middle of a\u00a0discussion\u00a0with someone in regards to lent \u00a0<\/a>\u00a0and how they felt that they needed to do something more challenging next year. \u00a0To which I commented: \\’I gave up on that years ago, I can\\’t be bothered with\u00a0Catholicism<\/a>\u00a0anymore.\\’ they\u00a0sighed\u00a0and replied \\’that\\’s often the case\\’.<\/p>\n

So I said, can you blame them? The Catholic religion is FULL of hypocrisy and I went on to say that the pope is a\u00a0douche-bag\u00a0and priests are running around raping alter boys yet the pope is more concerned about gay marriage and how it\\’s \\’not sanctioned\\’ sodomy is wrong and no birth control or abortions for you! \u00a0It\\’s appalling that when someone dies, a child is born with\u00a0hideous\u00a0deformities ( and the list goes on) that the die hard\\’s always say: It\\’s God\\’s way. OK well what if my child was born gay, since God allegedly created us all than why in the fuck is it so wrong? By wrong I mean in the eyes of the fanatics.<\/p>\n

I wholly support the gay community 100% by the way. \u00a0I always have and that\\’s NOT going to change anytime soon.<\/em><\/p>\n

All of which really pissed the person I was talking to off. \u00a0They fired back with:\\”That\\’s not a global opinion Steph\\” and they\\’re right. It\\’s not. \u00a0It is however *my*<\/em>\u00a0opinion, to which I believe I am more than\u00a0entitled\u00a0to! To which I said, I know that. \u00a0I however choose not to embark on a path that clearly supports hypocritical nonsense. \u00a0To which they said they were\u00a0offended by my use of the word nonsense. \u00a0I\\’m not talking about your run of the mill nonsense, I\\’m talking about HYPOCRITICAL nonsense, to which there is a difference. At least in my point of view. It\\’s my blog, so I don\\’t give a shit if you don\\’t agree.<\/p>\n

It also explains why this person is such an opinionated hypocrite themselves.<\/em><\/p>\n

They themselves have a child, one who was\u00a0conceived\u00a0out of wedlock. \u00a0Which in the eyes of the catholic church, makes that child a bastard. \u00a0Also sex before marriage? That\\’s a big no no too! \u00a0What if said child is gay? Oh shit, heads are going to roll.<\/p>\n

ROLL PEOPLE! \u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

So I offended this person once again. \u00a0Seems to happen a lot. Not that I give a shit, I\\’m not going to change who I am just because someone has a problem with it. I don\\’t give a shit if you like me or not to be honest. \u00a0However, respect is a two way street. As I said before, I respect everyone\\’s right to believe in what they choose, to\u00a0worship who\/where they please. \u00a0Doesn\\’t mean I have to like your point of view, nor are you required to like mine.<\/p>\n

I<\/strong><\/span> however, at least respect you and what you believe in regardless and I don\\’t take offense to your inability to give me the same courtesy.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

I can not with a clear\u00a0conscious\u00a0partake in a\u00a0religion\u00a0that tells me I can\\’t<\/strong>:<\/p>\n
