{"id":1770,"date":"2012-03-18T09:52:51","date_gmt":"2012-03-18T13:52:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/modologyworld.net\/steph\/?p=1770"},"modified":"2012-03-18T09:52:51","modified_gmt":"2012-03-18T13:52:51","slug":"a-message-by-george-carlin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/modologyworld.net\/steph\/?p=1770","title":{"rendered":"A Message by George Carlin:"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers,<br \/>\nwider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints.<br \/>\nWe spend more, but have less,<br \/>\nwe buy more, but enjoy less.<br \/>\nWe have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time.<br \/>\nWe have more degrees but less sense,<br \/>\nmore knowledge, but less judgment,<br \/>\nmore experts, yet more problems,<br \/>\nmore medicine, but less wellness.<\/p>\n<p>We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry,<br \/>\nstay up too late, get up too tired,<br \/>\nread too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.<\/p>\n<p>We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.<br \/>\nWe talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.<\/p>\n<p>We\\&#8217;ve learned how to make a living, but not a life.<br \/>\nWe\\&#8217;ve added years to life not life to years.<br \/>\nWe\\&#8217;ve been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor.<br \/>\nWe conquered outer space but not inner space.<br \/>\nWe\\&#8217;ve done larger things, but not better things.<\/p>\n<p>We\\&#8217;ve cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul.<br \/>\nWe\\&#8217;ve conquered the atom, but not our prejudice.<br \/>\nWe write more, but learn less.<br \/>\nWe plan more, but accomplish less.<br \/>\nWe\\&#8217;ve learned to rush, but not to wait.<br \/>\nWe build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.<\/p>\n<p>These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion,<br \/>\nbig men and small character,<br \/>\nsteep profits and shallow relationships.<br \/>\nThese are the days of two incomes but more divorce,<br \/>\nfancier houses, but broken homes.<br \/>\nThese are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill.<br \/>\nIt is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom.<br \/>\nA time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Remember;<br \/>\nspend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.<\/p>\n<p>Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.<\/p>\n<p>Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn\\&#8217;t cost a cent.<\/p>\n<p>Remember, to say, \\&#8217;I love you\\&#8217; to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.<\/p>\n<p>Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.<\/p>\n<p>Give time to love, give time to speak!
