I do love me some progress!\u00a0 You know what I don\\’t<\/em> particularly care for?\u00a0 The big ass pile of paperwork that\\’s currently on the other side of my bed.\u00a0 I could think of much better things to curl up into bed with…\u00a0 Anyway I registered a domain today, for Jason\\’s foundation & I submitted the paperwork for a name search\/reservation.\u00a0 Of course you can do this online (for free), however it doesn\\’t work (of course) however at least I\\’ll have the paperwork needed to submit along with my pile of paperwork all for $37.00.\u00a0 So I\\’m pretty much going cross eyed reading reams of manuals, forms and applications.\u00a0 I was going the registered charity route, but after doing more research changed my mind.\u00a0 I know the government must have loved that!\u00a0 So now I\\’m back at square one, but that\\’s OK. \u00a0 Mainly because going not for profit offers my foundation more freedom in terms of who I can give my money to.\u00a0 Simply put: registered charities can only donate to other registered charities wheres NFP can donate to whomever they want to as long as they\\’re not for profit or<\/strong> a registered charity.<\/p>\n

This is turning into a slightly costly venture though I must say.\u00a0 I get the name check because then you get a patent and registration from the government.\u00a0 That\\’s important, people can look that stuff up and in order to hold events and what have you its crucial to this foundations well being.\u00a0 So to apply for that its $145.00 which I don\\’t currently have (but I will) then I have to go visit a notary and God knows how much that\\’s<\/em> going to cost me.\u00a0 I get that too though because if they made it easy, then everyone and their mother would be registering not for profit\/charitable status for the tax benefits.\u00a0 It is however a bit of a hassle.\u00a0 The thing that\\’s the most <\/strong><\/em><\/span>irritating?\u00a0 Having to download\/print a \\”translated version\\” of the paperwork!\u00a0 Because it has to be submitted in French (FFS!) such a hassle!\u00a0 They won\\’t accept it if you submit it on those forms *sigh* sooooo got that out of the way.\u00a0 Called my other directors (you need at least 3 people to do this) and now I\\’m playing the waiting game.<\/p>\n

Have to get the name OK first, which is on the way.\u00a0 Then I have to get the paperwork completed and signed by Krystal & Donna.\u00a0 So I\\’m heading off to NDG on Wed to go see them and hang out for a bit.\u00a0 So if anything I feel like something is happening, even if its going to take a while.\u00a0 I like progress, its important.\u00a0 At least I think so.\u00a0 So in the meantime I\\’m going to start working on the website because that will likely take me longer then anything else.\u00a0 I can\\’t make it public until I get that paperwork, which sucks because I want to tell people but I haven\\’t told anyone as of yet.\u00a0 Its not that I don\\’t trust anyone, its more so if in the event that I don\\’t get the name that I want then I don\\’t have to run around and explain everything to everyone about the change and what not as well.\u00a0 Doesn\\’t matter because the domain is bought and paid for so no going back now lol.<\/p>\n

I\\’m going to bed, its not even 3am.\u00a0 My sleep schedule is kinda futzed up but I know I\\’m not the only one \ud83d\ude09\u00a0 Oh what I would give for a normal schedule, but then again I tend to loose track of time with some people.\u00a0 But its awesome when I do!\u00a0 However the whole lack of sleep thing sucks, especially when its not happening to you.\u00a0 I can at least go to sleep and I know that.\u00a0 I have lots to do though, laundry, buy some food for a change!\u00a0 Stuff like that.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
