Strange things happen when…

You buy a new computer .   First off you get to say things like this: \”The best thing about my new PC? I can download porn in a nanosecond!  That\’s brilliant!\” The looks on their faces? Priceless 😉  Really though, I never did realize just how freaking slow mine was until I bought my new toy (thanks mom <3) So now my usual everyday tasks don\’t take an eternity to happen which means suddenly I have more free time.  You would think that I would use that to do something constructive but no, I play with websites such as the oatmeal and take stupid quizzes just for fun.  I also discover hidden gems such as this: Why its better to pretend that you don\’t know anything about computers (this reminds me of a few people who think I\’m their own personal geek squad)  Here\’s the result(s) of some of them pointless quizzes just for fun because well I know you want to know this and that\’s OK, I\’m not here to judge you.

Don\’t know if this would ever happen but good to know that I would die pretty quickly regardless lol.

Out with the old and in with the new…

New Schedule hooray!  I don\’t particularity care for it per Se since its 6 freaking days a week but 3 of those days are half days and the best part: THEY\’RE DURING THE DAY!  So maybe, I can get my ass back on track, have a life and you know all those good things!  So I think I will be speaking with Leanne about this whole personal Chef business because now I can totally pull it off and I need the cash.  The sooner I get my visa bill paid off the sooner I can get my derriere back in school and get the hell out of this industry and that\’s what I\’m after the most!   I have to say that this new schedule of mine feels somewhat liberating!  No more working til 4am (except for one day a week no biggie) and maybe no more feeling so lethargic all the time either!  In any case I am going to see my hot Dr. about getting my thyroid tested because I\’m always tired and cold.  I think its under-active (very much like myself)  :p So that\’s on my to look into list and I\’ll be doing that sometime this week seeing as how I\’ve been like this for years and nothing much as helped aside from lots and lots of caffeine!

My newest tattoo addition is healing beautifully and I am quite happy about that!  When it started to scab over it was a tad gross because the kept falling into my cleavage and it looked like I had some strange disease or as someone pointed out, looked like I had ants in my bra…  My lovely friend Jeremy came in from Maine with his super sweet new Beau Tim and we had a fabulous brunch at my house.  It was so great to see them both!

So tomorrow I have to run to the post office and mail my rent via registered mail, do my laundry, pop into Gryphon and see my ladies!  Call the clinic about getting those tests done and talk to Leanne who is hopefully in the office when I pop in.  I also have to finish cleaning my apartment!  I made some minor changes to the decor around here and got rid of some stuff that I don\’t need any longer.  The garbage men are going to likely hate me but its nice to De-clutter one\’s home 🙂  Some stuff can be donated and it will be, or I\’ll just put an ad up on CL in the free section to get rid of it that much faster.  I also have to network my old PC and my new one so that I don\’t have to spent an eternity burning CD\’s and what have you.  That\’s going to be a slightly cumbersome task but at least I\’ll have all my programs on here.  Especially Microsoft office because I don\’t have the CD anymore and well I don\’t see a point in buying it again and of course my new computer (which I love!) only has the 60 day trial.  Not to mention all the other programs that I have trapped in my old HDD.  I could just switch them out but this one is bigger (460g) vs my old one (80g) and the OS isn\’t the same either.

Then maybe I\’ll get back on track with my website!  For now though I\’m going to focus on getting caught up on some much needed things around here and in my day to day life first.  I\’m finding it really difficult to sum up the motivation to work on that I have to admit.  It just seems so damn tedious…  I\’ve contemplated throwing in the towel on numerous occasions but, as everyone has said:\”You\’ve come this far\” but I still have such a LONG way to go…  But hey if its meant to be, it\’ll happen right?

On a final note: Some seasonal (Christmas) humor leftover from the holidays.   Sketchy Santa The ultimate prank

The 2009 review

Well the year is almost over…  There\’s lots I could say to sum it up but to coin a phrase from Catlin \”2009 for me was the absolute highest highs and the lowest lows. I experienced pure, unadulterated joy and rock bottom, brutal sadness. I felt about as angry as I ever have.\” Hope she doesn\’t mind, but in all honestly I really couldn\’t have said it better myself!  Brilliantly put Catlin, that\’s all I have to say 🙂  Reading other people\’s blogs has its advantages since it was Catlin that pointed out that Gillian answers a serious of questions every year after skimming through them I thought well you know, why not?  So thank you Gillian for making this blog entry a little easier!

1. What did you do in 2009 that you’d never done before?

Lots of things!  Went to places I\’ve never been before and more importantly became a little more true to myself.  Oh and I went boxing day shopping with my mom & sister and didn\’t buy a  single hoodie!  (I have a hoodie addiction)  Seriously…  You reading this Micheal lol.  I actually bought girly attire…  I gotta say though I do love that angora sweater 😉

Not being there for someone when they needed me the most.

36. Who was the best new person you met?

Define met, I can say who the best new person I\’ve talked to but have yet to meet is.  They already know that though and if they don\’t well they should!

37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009.

Life is short, too short!

38. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.

My best friend gave me the best advice
He said each day\’s a gift and not a given right
Leave no stone unturned, leave your fears behind
And try to take the path less traveled by
That first step you take is the longest stride

If today was your last day and tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last
Leave old pictures in the past?
Donate every dime you had, if today was your last day?
What if, what if, if today was your last day?

Against the grain should be a way of life
What\’s worth the price is always worth the fight
Every second counts \’cause there\’s no second try
So live like you\’re never living twice
Don\’t take the free ride in your own life

If today was your last day-Nickleback

So in closing, this year sucked in SO many ways…  Tons and tons of soul sucking drama, far too many tears and heartbreak and things that just speak of pure evil.  Although there were a few rare moments of happiness that made them all that much more precious.  In the end its the little things that matter and that was a lesson that I sadly learned the hard way.
So 2009 wasn\’t a total loss, just a very difficult year.  In the end, I have learned that inspiration can come from the strangest things but leads to something beautiful.  I\’m not going to rattle of names, but I can only hope that those who were there for me either directly or indirectly when I needed them the most, who gave me some very much needed closure in inadvertently assisting me with my memorial tattoo for Jason and those who just made this year suck a little less, your awesome and I am so totally grateful that you were there even if it was only for a brief period of time <3
Here\’s to hoping that 2010 is full of much better things for us all 😉

Dear God…

I\’m doing laundry earlier today and my cell phone starts ringing with an un-familiar Quebec number…  Didn\’t know who the hell it was but I answered it anyway, turns out it was this woman who\’s opening a travel agency a few doors down from my old job who\’s in LOVE with my cooking.

I guess in a way I should be flattered but she\’s crazy!  I swear to God she has to be on something!  So she tells me to get \”settled in\” at my new job/school and to give her a call.  Why?  Because she still wants me to cook for her a few times a week.  She says to me well of course I\’ll pay you (well yeah I don\’t volunteer my time quite like that).  So I\’m a  little on the fence about that because well she\’s just plain strange.  But she also wants me to help boost her travel sales and promised me a commission which might not be bad…

I don\’t know why she adores me so and my former boss started spreading this ugly rumor about how reliable I was and all these nice things, how dare she 😉  I am compelled to wonder if she\’s just doing this because either A: She\’s trying to help me out because its no secret that I\’m a tad broke temporarily since I\’m putting my dentist\’s kids through Harvard  & my hours were reduced drastically for four months *or* B: She has an ulterior motive because she knows that I don\’t really care for her all that much.  In any case I\’m perplexed just a little bit…

The one thing that really irritates me the most was that someone from there gave out MY PHONE NUMBER to her without asking me first.  I mean really, that\’s FAR from being OK.  No matter how beneficial anyone thinks it might be for me, its common courtesy to call someone first and ASK if its OK to give out a former employee\’s personal information like that!  I would have said OK for other reasons totally un-related to her request due to a former agreement we had but its the lack of respect that really irritates me the most.  But you never know, I could make a lot of money out of this deal!  Depends on my workload at the new place first and my days off and what not…
