What a day…

That is coming to a close thank God!  We had some psycho nut job call the bakery today talking shit and uttering threats.  I won\’t get into details but whomever it was that called is seriously off her flipping rocker!  Evidently she has some sort of issue with the p/t employee which is fine but… DON\’T BRING YOUR FUCKING DRAMA TO SOMEONE\’S PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT AND DRAG THE STAFF WHO HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR EVIDENT PSYCHOPATHIC ISSUES INTO IT! *end rant*

That just blew me away, of course however in typical fashion we used yet another epic event to poke fun at the situation as a whole.  Now every time one of us calls upstairs/downstairs we all \”impersonate\” a black woman and say: Who dis?  Were actually getting quite good at it as a matter of fact…

I only have a suture or two left and the scabs that were residing under them are GONE HOWRAH!   So I\’m halfway on the road to being FULLY recovered from my surgery!  Still have a little ways to go but in spite of it all, I seem to be doing OK!  I still have a little bit of pain in my upper cheek area and I\’m 99.9% certain that its leftover from my infection and not my actual surgery.   Even that (residual discomfort) however is starting to go away.

I\’m quite excited about this and I know that I am not the only one but I\’ll leave them out of it 😉

So the minor \”lifestyle\” changes I\’ve made are seemingly paying off already which is good.  Still have a few more things that I should need to do in order to make my life easier overall and eventually I\’ll get around to them in due time.  My body hates me enough as it is, no need to over-do it for the time being.

Exasperation, I has it…

And I have it bad!  Healing is SUCH a pain in the ass, doesn\’t matter if its my tattoos or better still recovering yet again from dental surgery UGH!  I had three choices to deal with le problem child tooth of mine which has already cost me a few bills already, you know of the hundred dollar sort.  Makes me wonder how I can afford this?  Oh right I can\’t hello visa (thanks Mom I love you!)!

Anyway new dentist FTW!  She\’s awesome, I have never ever in my life had a better dentist, much more then Regina Bastos! Because she\’s a useless twat…  As most people know I was beyond fed up at this point, the infection came back AGAIN so I was about ready to have a total meltdown because the pain was just too much.  So went in and had my consultation for this stupid tooth and was given one of three options:
Extract it: $170.00 although it says differently on their website…  I\’m going to ask her about that one.  Root canal/gold post for support & white filling $450-700.00 with an 80% change of actually keeping it or:
Root Canal/porcelain crown approx total cost almost 2 grand!

So needless to say there was no f\’ing way I was spending 2 grand on anything that day, let alone one tooth with a 20% change of having to have it removed and get an implant anyway (another 2-5 grand).  So I had the sucker yanked out along with the infection that\’s been haunting me (or I hope!).  So I\’m hoping that once become a patient at McGill\’s teaching program I can go back and forth between the two and have an implant put in later on sometime next year since its Cheaper at McGill then a private clinic.  Had I not already wiped out my insurance for the most part, let alone had SO many issues with it in the first place I *may* have opted to go another route.

Healing is taking a little longer this time around but the surgery went exceptionally well.  I was awake the whole time and in spite of the fact that I had so much Novocaine injected in my face and I sounded slightly like a retarded stroke victim I was happy!  Still have the Absorb-able sutures in my mouth and I really try NOT to think about what they\’re made out of.   So yesterday of course I had to be gross and see just exactly how this looked with the aid of a mirror and well I\’ll spare you the details.  Needless to say I won\’t be kissing anyone for a while yet.  She said they should be gone in 7-10 days but they can take longer.  I broke *almost* all the rules on the  don\’t do this for at least 48 hours rule by the dentist (had a birthday party Friday night 24 hrs post op) but so far I seem to be OK!  I\’ll tell you though, it isn\’t exactly doing wonders for my personal life.  Oh wait I don\’t have one of those either! lol

All right enough about my EPIC dental FAIL!  Work has been SO slow, I mean ridiculously so.   So the boss has been in a bit of a snit but what can you do.  September is closing in which means hellish nightmare chaos all around.  I go back to working until 5pm thank God I need the cash!  Changes they are a coming and I am curious to see just exactly how that\’s all going to pan out, let alone affect the amount of work I have to do.  We all got spoiled this summer but once the weather starts to change we get annihilated with orders especially for Christmas which is enough to make me want to go on Prozac.

I deal with enough stupid people in a day at work as is, I really REALLY don\’t need to deal with anymore.  We all came up with awesome ideas to make things run better and more  smoothly but of course boss lady has to \”come up with them on her own. *cough* control freak *cough* So of course with said new changes will come an abundance of new stupid questions that will most likely get asked via  a phone call at 9:30am when I am right smack in the middle of doing something, you know like work perhaps?

Haven\’t done much work on the website, too caught up in other things like trying not to stress out and have a life.  Mostly I\’ve been slacking, for a number of legitimate reasons.  My health and the scares that followed came first but that seems to be mostly OK.  Have a few moments here and there that I wonder what the hell is going on.  I am however making a valid effort in changing some things about my lifestyle for the greater good.  Not being overly fanatical about it, I don\’t see the need but I figure it can\’t hurt to be responsible once in a while…  Right?

So I am looking forward to a few concerts, a charity benefit, more money, no pain and some other things that I am not going to mention on here 😉

Maybe, just maybe I\’ll update this a little more often with things that are more interesting to read too, how about that!

What can I say…

I\’m a slacker, I\’ll own up to it.  Mostly because I have nothing really interesting to post, seriously.  Seems like most of my life drama is finally sorted.  Certain events changed my perspective on things but in a good way.  Certain people have been either removed from my life or their place in my life has shifted but sometimes I feel that this is a MUCH better way to go.

My face has pretty much resumed back to its \”normal\” look.  I found an awesome new dentist so I\’m really happy about that!  EPIC dental fail shall be resolved next Thursday.  Got myself a ticket to see Manson with a bunch of friends so that should be pretty freaking awesome from what I have heard.  Metallica is in town too and I am ITCHING to get my dirty little fingers on a ticket for that show along with 6 of my friends.  Hello scalper!  I should be more responsible with how I choose to spend my money I guess but I love Metallica and they haven\’t been here in forever so screw it you only live once!

My tattoo is pretty much healed, and was problem free in spite of being exceptionally ill when I got it in the first place.  Boys are driving me crazy as of late but really is that anything new?  Work seems to have sorted itself out for the most part which is always a nice change from the norm.  So yeah pretty boring stuff I have to admit!  I finally got around to updating the about page, starring yours truly!

Anyway its Wed, might do something worth mentioning on the weekend…  Who knows, stay tuned 😉

Back from vacation…

Which was \”interesting\” at best. A lot of good, a ton of bad but overall it was pretty awesome! I hit the ground running as soon as I got into town at 9:30am on Saturday. My mom\’s birthday party started at 3pm and I was going to make her cake so I had a really crazy busy morning but I managed to pull it off, cos I\’m awesome like that! My mom\’s party was great, she loved it. It was nice to see family I hadn\’t seen in a while, along with some old friends and of course get shamelessly wasted lol.

Then… On Sunday evening after I recovered from my hangover lol we went out to the bar for a while and that was OK. Monday I headed over to my sisters house for dinner and I had something stuck in my problem child tooth and it was driving me crazy! So I finally managed to dislodge whatever it was and I still had that \”pulse\” you get with nerve pain but I brushed it off and asked my sister for some Advil. After getting to my mom\’s place it was still persisting and I took more painkillers and finally managed to get to sleep that night because we had plans to go to the movies on Tuesday because mom and I wanted to go see Ice Age 3 in 3D. So when I woke up Tuesday morning I was a little swollen and sore but again I blew it off. We went to see the movie which was awesome in case you wondering 🙂 I\’d never seen a 3D movie before and it was a lot of fun. After the movie was over, my mom noticed my face had started to balloon out and I headed over to the clinic that was thankfully across the street.

Turns out I have a bacterial infection in the soft tissue(s) in my mouth because that bitch dentist took TOO much of my tooth away leaving my mouth open to exposure to bacteria and deadly infections. So after shelling out $32.00 to see the Doctor since I was in another province and don\’t have Ontario coverage anymore (I will get reimbursed from the RAMQ) and then headed over to the pharmacy to get my prescription filled. I was put on a very aggressive round of antibiotics and painkillers. The antibiotics are only meant to be taken once a day but I have to take them 3 times a day because it was that bad. I was given percocets w/acetaminophen for the pain/swelling which didn\’t really do anything for me. I shouldn\’t be taking prescription narcotics but the pain was SO EPIC that I had no choice. Thankfully after Tuesday night/Wed morning I was OK with Advil save for one time during my tattoo appointment.
Tuesday afternoon:

This was the HORROR I woke up to on Wed morning. (see gallery for the awesome pictures)

I\’m not a vain person but I cried when I looked at myself in the mirror. I have never ever in my left ever looked or felt SO hideous! I didn\’t want to even leave the house but alas I had a tattoo appointment that afternoon and when I left the house I was wearing big sunglasses and a hoodie to hide my face best as I could. Tim was appalled when I walked in there. He says to me \”what the fuck happened to you!?\” so I told him that I did have an infection to which he said he wasn\’t touching me until I told him I was on meds for it to which he relented thank God. So that kind of ruined my tattoo appointment because I felt like utter crap, looked like a freak and wasn\’t feeling well because of the antibiotics but I tell you the painkillers really helped during my tattoo appointment especially since I had part of the underside of my arm tattooed. So needless to say that didn\’t suck too bad lol.

I didn\’t do much for the rest of my vacation except hang out with my best friend who doesn\’t make me feel self conscious and thankfully the antibiotics had started to kick in so the swelling was getting better by that point and I was able to eat and talk better after that. Then Dustin came home from camp in Kentucky and I went to my nieces soccer game and Friday morning we left to come back to Montreal.
Friday we relaxed and didn\’t do much because everyone was hot & tired. Saturday we headed off to St. Denis street and much to my surprise just for laughs was on and that was a lot of fun! We couldn\’t go to see any shows because we couldn\’t afford them for one thing and Dustin was with us and he\’s not 18 yet.

\"PA070267\"

Then on Sunday we headed off to Pointe-à-Callière, the Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History which I have been to before but Dustin & mom really seemed to enjoy it. Aside from that we didn\’t do much, we mostly wanted to relax & veg out. It was too hot and muggy to do everything we wanted to do but it was still fun just the same!

So I got one of 5 ultrasounds booked, of course the most urgent one isn\’t being booked until the middle of 2010 which is INSANE! I talked to one technician today and he was really nice and managed to get me an appointment for Sept as opposed to November which rocked and then I had to call the vascular clinic for the other ultrasounds I needed and she too was super nice and really helpful and felt really bad that she\’s so booked but told me to send in my requisition just the same and she told me she would do her best to see when she could squeeze me in.
I\’m also sending it to other hospitals in hopes that I can get in sooner as opposed to later. She was pretty pissed that my doctor left it up to me to make these appointments when they should be doing it themselves. That might had been more helpful since the Doctor obviously has more pull and could *maybe* get me in sooner but c\’est la vie! I called the clinic today to see when I could come in and see the results of my blood tests and that\’s not until August 3rd so that kind of sucks…
I have to find a new dentist ASAP so I can get my problem child tooth pulled out right away so that I don\’t get re-infected like it just did. Thankfully I was accepted into McGill\’s teaching clinic and while it takes MUCH longer to get treatment (up to 3hrs for a filling) the considerably HUGE price difference makes it a million times worth it. My jaw dropped numerous times when I was being told how little it costs and just how much some dentists are charging for dental care! So once your in, your in which rocks! I need a lot of dental work, which sucks. I need to have one of my front teeth pulled which DOESN\’T make me happy AT ALL! But thank God for dental implants! I need to get a partial for the teeth I recently had pulled because even though McGill is considerably more affordable its still going to cost me about a thousand dollars for the implant because you need to get a crown first and then the implant after that. So I\’m looking at about 2 years before I\’m all caught up so I\’m going to seek out care at a private clinic that I\’ve been eying up in conjunction with McGill simply because this private clinic isn\’t that costly and it will save time because having to take that much time off of work won\’t make much of a difference if I\’m not getting my hours in to pay for said dental bills. Thank God I have a visa! I\’m also filing a complaint with the CDA because what she did to me was WRONG!
