Sometimes I do nice things

Even though according to some people… Micheal *ahem* I\’m trashing my street cred I don\’t care. I never claimed not to be a nice, good all around decent person because I am. That however doesn\’t mean that I\’m STILL not totally badass (because I am) and I refuse to take shit from anyone. Anyway yesterday was the Beaconsfield pet fair and Reach for the stars rescue was there. Which most people should know is owned and operated by a friend of mine and I stand by her efforts 150%.   So in spite of the fact that I didn\’t go to bed until 4:30am I got up early and dragged my ass off to the west island and was hello kitty for the day.

Yes I dressed up as hello kitty.  Yeah we all know how much hello kitty rules but it was pretty warm yesterday and wearing 2 layers of plush over my jeans and t-shirt was equivalent to wearing my own personal sauna ALL day.  Made lots of little girls exceptionally happy, freaked out a few smaller children, as well as scared a dog.  Posed for lots of pictures, got attacked numerous times by small children who I couldn\’t really see since that mask is almost damn near impossible to see anything in.  I however managed not to step on anyone\’s animals or children and didn\’t kick any puppies.

It was an awesome day for the rescue since most people had dogs whereas we did too but we also had lots of kitties with us that were in dire need of forever homes and thankfully to the generosity of some kind people 7 cats and one dog are now out of foster care which is awesome!  I couldn\’t be more happier for Jackie\’s rescue since she works SO hard to make sure that those animals are taken care of and well loved!  Reach for the stars rescue is the ONLY foster based rescue that provides everything.  From the food, the litter, vet check ups, toys, blankets and the whole 9 yards!

Sooner as opposed to later I\’ll be building their website so that we can make a better effort to get the word out for fund-raising and such.  Which Jackie does a lot of from making her own jam from scratch, dinners, live shows and any other means that she can raise money to help them.  I think she\’s amazing, I have never met someone who gives so selflessly to others.  Most people are against adopting from rescues and various agency\’s because of the adoption fee\’s.  What most people don\’t take into consideration is the amount of money that goes into making sure that they\’re well loved and healthy BEFORE they become your new pet.

So on that note, once my business gets up and running, some proceeds will go to the rescue because I know for a fact that ALL the money she raises is put back into her rescue efforts and doesn\’t keep a cent for herself.  OK I\’m done pimping out the rescue for now 😉

Just goes to show you that those of us who are modified aren\’t bad people!

I also added another section to my links for suicide prevention because not a day goes by that I don\’t miss Jason <3

Hoodies rule my world…

So its been another one of those insanely busy crazy weeks YET again and once again I\’m poor…  Granted I didn\’t have to spend $130.00  at old navy on 3 new hoodies/2 shirts.  My black one was looking a little faded and dated so its perfect for wearing at work in the winter but not for wearing \”out\”.  Then I found a really cute red one to replace the one I used to have.   I parted ways with it because it was just too damn big.  Then I found a really cute green one and of course 2 absolutely adorable SO not my style shirts.  I should have paid of my visa ahem but c\’est la vie!  I\’m getting girlie-er by the minute,   and its freaking me out!  I mean really if you seen the new panties I bought anyone who truly knows me would think I was outta my mind!

Thankfully my days of working 9-4 are OVER!  That extra hour (well in my case 5) that I lost this summer per week really adds up!  So it\’ll take me a while to \”get back on track\” by no fault but my own of course.  So as of Monday I go back to working 9-5 and as of Wed I start going to McGill to get this dental hell of mine sorted out…  Which I will be paying out the ass for in more ways then one!  I have decided however to do some comparison shopping since I have a consultation with my private dentist on the 25th and then at McGill as well.  I have decided that anything that\’s *really* expensive I\’ll get done at McGill because its more cost effective.  Simple things like fillings and so on I\’ll go to my private dentist for.  Mostly because at McGill a filling might take up to 3 hours, yeah THREE HOURS, that sounds fun, what does a root canal take all day?  McGill\’s hours SUCK 9-5 just like my job and my private dentist is open until 9pm and on Saturday\’s.  So to go to McGill for something minor like a filling is hardly worth the money that I\’m going to loose in lost hours.   I\’ll loose money as opposed to saving it so I think I can strike a decent balance between the two.  I\’ve already discussed this with my private dentist and she didn\’t begrudge me for it, she knows that dental care is expensive.  So here\’s to hoping that Leon and Dr. F are harmonious with this situation…

Overall I\’ve had a pretty good week!  I got in touch with a friend that I hadn\’t seen in a while only to discover that her sister (also a friend of mine) is in the hospital which really sucks!  So I\’ve been in to see her as well because the hospital is a damn lonely place.  I still miss Jason each and every single day but it gets easier.  It still hasn\’t sunk in yet 100% but I know that it will and will most likely be at some really awkward moment but I\’ll cross that particular bridge if and when I come to it…

Laughter…

truly is the best medicine I would think, at least lately!  Work was actually fun today!  Krystal and I had a blast and so did Donna and myself.  I haven\’t laughed that much or enjoyed my day at work quite like I did today in a long time.  It was nice for a change!  I\’m still dealing with Thursdays horrifying events but I\’m not forcing myself to \”feel better\” I\’m just going to go with it and enjoy the little things a little bit more then I used to.  It shouldn\’t have taken the death of someone I cared about to kick my ass into gear but like I normally do, I try to find something, anything no  matter how small that\’s positive!  In any case if the boss heard even a 1/4 of the conversations we have at work sometimes we would all be fired!

Carly\’s coming to Montreal for the first time since she left to move to West Virgina and I am SO excited about that!  I really can\’t wait to see her 🙂  I will be exceptionally dissapointed if I don\’t!  I know she\’s going to be insanely busy with family things and of course all the visiting she has to do but dammit I\’m important 🙂

Heddy (lovingly known as Kitler) pulled quite the epic stunt earlier when I got home and I wanted to kill her!  Don\’t get me wrong, I love my slightly psycho crossed-eyed cat.  However that loves tends to fall to the wayside when she attacks my face because she got one of her nails caught in my shirt and I knew she was (this close) to having one of her fits but couldn\’t get her off of me in time!  So needless to say, I\’m not impressed with her at the moment!

Soon though she\’ll have a friend.  Poor Jackie has an array of the feline sort that need foster and forever homes and she has one kitty at her house that I LOVE!  His name is chocolate and he\’s a Persian of some sort with the most beautiful blue eyes ever!  Sadly he\’s not a fan of other cats and well Heddy\’s off her rocker sometimes so that would be a bad match!  So since I\’m not picky about whom I take I might be getting tou-tou who\’s a regular old tabby cat and he\’s a cutie!

Nothing exciting really, the tea room was quiet today.  Although we had one woman come in (with her son) who wanted to buy scones to take home and Donna asked her if she wanted some butter to go with them and she said no.  Then he\’s like yeah well *I* want butter!  Mom being sensible says I don\’t want to butter them in the the car (fair enough) then he gets all pouty and says just do it!  I\’m thinking to myself Jesus Christ you spoiled brat if you were my kid you\’d be getting a smack for that!  This is one of hundreds of reasons why I *DON\’T* want kids!  Their parents spoil them horribly and then when they don\’t get their way, all hell breaks loose!  Funny how neither my niece or nephew are like that.  I\’m not just being biased because I\’m their aunt, they\’re just really good kids!  I don\’t think my sister realizes just how good her children really are.  I adore them <3

*edit* I finally added images/albums via the gallery page 🙂

Changes, eternal gratefulness and all around good things!

So since a slew of people were asking to view my work as in my exceptionally random photography work, I created a gallery section & I\’m slowly sorting through my albums to see what exactly I want to share with the world at large.

I\’ve learned to appreciate more of what I have these days now that Jason\’s gone.  I actually made it through the day without crying for a change!  So that was nice…  Still need to e-mail James which I\’m going to do shortly.  Its not fair to keep him in the dark when maybe I can offer him a little insight to ease his pain as well as my own.  It still hurts but I count my blessings now a lot more then I used to.

\"sad\"I hope someday sooner as opposed to later I won\’t be as sad anymore.  I can\’t e-mail him anymore but I will \”stay in touch\” through here.  It helps me to deal, especially since I think I will forever be haunted by him telling me that hearing from me brightened his day and I wasn\’t there when he needed me the most.  Besides its my domain, my blog and no one needs to read them if they don\’t want to.

Although I think the hellish nightmare/roller coaster of grieve and guilt has at the very least slowed down a little.  I\’m a little bothered by the fact that they still haven\’t buried him yet.  Yeah I understand that an autopsy is necessary to determine the cause of death but I\’m fairly certain that\’s was established at the scene.  Again I\’ll spare you the details that I do know…

In any case tragedy will either bring out the best and/or the worst in people and I have to say that I\’m pretty fortunate to have the amount of people in my life that I do that are SO AWESOME!  Words can\’t express how exceptionally grateful I am to have such people in my life.  I know I keep saying it, but I\’m not going to assume that they know anymore.
