Its interesting how life works sometimes…

I\’ve made a rather strange observation as of late.  It seems that *almost* everyone I know back home has done the following:

  1. Got engaged
  2. Bought a house
  3. Got married
  4. Has a baby on the way

And in that order for the most part.  Which is SO typical of my hometown, everything is so neat, tidy and perfect.

Then there\’s me:

  1. I bailed outta Ontario
  2. Moved to Montreal
  3. Got married
  4. Lived in an apartment
  5. Moved to a bigger apartment
  6. Got a divorce/moved out and left everything to him
  7. Lived in a rooming house for over a year & met John
  8. Moved into my own apt. and replaced everything that I left with my ex husband
  9. I am now currently enjoying my independence 🙂

I wonder if my life would have been the same, but likely not as I have always walked to the beat of a different drum myself.  I don\’t know if I could deal with having such a  \”neat and tidy life\” as such.  Not that I\’m envious or anything of the such, I am actually thrilled that everyone I know from back home is doing exceptionally well.   Its just odd how everyone else seems to fit into that \”mold\”.  At least from my hometown, that really doesn\’t apply to my other friends.  Like Carly, who is as anti-baby as I am ha ha!

In any case, I like my life the way that it is.  Taking on too much, and its generally utterly chaotic but I live by my own rules and I like it!

Well hello Dr. Hottie pants!

So I finally made it to the clinic today!  I DID go in yesterday, but the wait regardless of the fact that I was in there 1/2hr after it opened it was packed and Joann was on her way over to give Heddy her shots later on in the afternoon and I didn\’t want to put her off once again.  Of course the Doctor that was in on Saturday was a woman which would have been an ideal choice for me given that I needed to have my breast looked at.  OF course today the Dr. on call was a guy, and a rather hot one at that!  Not one that I would \”involve\” myself with personally but man were talking some serious eye candy here!

So when Dr. Lavy Dr. Hottie Pants walked into the exam room I was all durrrrr I can\’t talk ha ha.  Anyway I explained what I *thought* was the problem, turns out I was indeed wrong because the location isn\’t the same.  So while he was groping me examining my breast to see where the mass was he couldn\’t locate it.  I refrained from saying that\’s OK darling you just keep on coping a feel until you find something, really its OK ha ha.  However its under the surface of my skin and its the size of a pea or roughly the size of one.  So he told me not to worry about it but is sending me off to see these people for a breast ultrasound.  Problem is, medicare no longer covers them.  They also don\’t come cheap, at $200.00+ a pop which I can\’t afford until May because of rent, my bus pass and insurance eating up the rest of my hard earned money.  I am exceptionally hopeful that my insurance will in fact cover it.  YAY for QC health care *insert heavily loaded sarcasm here*

Strange thing is last year when I went to see my OBGYN and forgot my medicare card I was told that if I forgot it next time I would be billed $100.00 for the visit.  So what somewhat troubles me astounds me  is that its only $100.00 to fondle my crotch but $200.00+ to fondle my boob?  As far as I\’m concerned my \”girly bits\” are FAR more private then my breasts are humph!  In any case the area is still burning, not in a ultra hardcore painful way but its still there and its still noticeable but Dr. Hottie Pants doesn\’t have x-ray vision so before I can receive the proper medical treatment I need to get an ultrasound first.

So between my boob, the chipped tooth that I desperately need to have repaired, not to mention the one that needs to get pulled I\’m rather frustrated with the sad state of affairs that my body is in lately!  Thankfully I DO have dental coverage and off to the dentist I go and soon to have those matters dealt with because I only have to pay 20% out of my own pocket, that I can deal with because I tell you, my tooth is bothering me FAR more then my burning boob.  So I have quite a few phone calls that I need to make Monday ugh!

In ohter news, i\’m *almost* done decorating my apt, which means pictures will come soon!

Fabulous Friday!

I LOVE 5 week pay months!  They don\’t happen very often but when they do, I tend to get extra excited!

I needed new shoes since I managed to spill liquid egg ALL over my suede air walks and essentially ruined them for day-to-day wear.  They have now been delegated to my \”work\” shoe collection.  I\’m not a big shoe person really.  I own my 8-hole doc martens, 1 3 pairs of air walk\’s, some no name brand skate shoes, a really hot pair of sandles that only fit when my feet aren\’t swollen, a pair of real and faux Chuck\’s and a super cute pair of ballet flats.

So I thought I have the extra cash why not go and see what\’s available to me.  Went to winners first, found a pair of DC skate shoes that I LOVED but they didn\’t fit right, and the hot pink retina burning soles really held little appeal along with their matching laces…  So then I went to pay less, they\’re reasonable and they have air walks which I love.  I can\’t skateboard to save my life but I love skate shoes because they\’re more durable and super comfy and IMHO cute, most of the time.

Found a pair similar to the ones I recently ruined and thought I\’ll go browse the other stores in Alexis Nihon first before I commit to buying a pair of $50.00 shoes that I wasn\’t entirely sold on.  So I went to Zellers and they had a shoe sale on YES!  They too also carry Air walk\’s and those are only $39.97 regular price but were on sale for $29.97 a pair so I bought 2.  Mostly because finding a pair of shoes that I like for me is rare, I like simple shoes in solid colors.  Not this attention grabbing, neon, bedazzled to death nonsense!  Mostly because I have small feet for someone who\’s pushing 6ft tall and everyone seems to point that out.  So I buy them a size bigger so that they at least look appear to be in proportion to the rest of me.

That excited me greatly!  Then I was strolling around and found memory foam pillows on sale as well for $29.97 YAY!  So I bought two of those as well because memory foam is AWESOME!  I have a memory foam topper and I\’ve had the best sleep yet because of that sucker!  So I also scored some new pillow cases just because.  The pillows come with this mega soft plushy pillow case but its white and that doesn\’t sit too well with me,  I prefer darker colors personally.

So for a grand total of $140.00 I scored 2 new memory foam pillows, 2 new pairs of shoes that aren\’t cheap knock offs and 300 thread count pillow cases.  Tomorrow its off to the clinic first thing to see the DR about this bump in my boob.  I went after work but it was crazy busy in there and I wasn\’t sitting standing in there for God knows how long until I could *maybe* see a doctor.
