Fabulous Friday!

I LOVE 5 week pay months!  They don\’t happen very often but when they do, I tend to get extra excited!

I needed new shoes since I managed to spill liquid egg ALL over my suede air walks and essentially ruined them for day-to-day wear.  They have now been delegated to my \”work\” shoe collection.  I\’m not a big shoe person really.  I own my 8-hole doc martens, 1 3 pairs of air walk\’s, some no name brand skate shoes, a really hot pair of sandles that only fit when my feet aren\’t swollen, a pair of real and faux Chuck\’s and a super cute pair of ballet flats.

So I thought I have the extra cash why not go and see what\’s available to me.  Went to winners first, found a pair of DC skate shoes that I LOVED but they didn\’t fit right, and the hot pink retina burning soles really held little appeal along with their matching laces…  So then I went to pay less, they\’re reasonable and they have air walks which I love.  I can\’t skateboard to save my life but I love skate shoes because they\’re more durable and super comfy and IMHO cute, most of the time.

Found a pair similar to the ones I recently ruined and thought I\’ll go browse the other stores in Alexis Nihon first before I commit to buying a pair of $50.00 shoes that I wasn\’t entirely sold on.  So I went to Zellers and they had a shoe sale on YES!  They too also carry Air walk\’s and those are only $39.97 regular price but were on sale for $29.97 a pair so I bought 2.  Mostly because finding a pair of shoes that I like for me is rare, I like simple shoes in solid colors.  Not this attention grabbing, neon, bedazzled to death nonsense!  Mostly because I have small feet for someone who\’s pushing 6ft tall and everyone seems to point that out.  So I buy them a size bigger so that they at least look appear to be in proportion to the rest of me.

That excited me greatly!  Then I was strolling around and found memory foam pillows on sale as well for $29.97 YAY!  So I bought two of those as well because memory foam is AWESOME!  I have a memory foam topper and I\’ve had the best sleep yet because of that sucker!  So I also scored some new pillow cases just because.  The pillows come with this mega soft plushy pillow case but its white and that doesn\’t sit too well with me,  I prefer darker colors personally.

So for a grand total of $140.00 I scored 2 new memory foam pillows, 2 new pairs of shoes that aren\’t cheap knock offs and 300 thread count pillow cases.  Tomorrow its off to the clinic first thing to see the DR about this bump in my boob.  I went after work but it was crazy busy in there and I wasn\’t sitting standing in there for God knows how long until I could *maybe* see a doctor.

Just another one of those hellish days…

I try to be a good person, help others, be considerate, smile at random strangers because maybe they just need someone to smile at them and preform random acts of kindness just because I can.  However sometimes it seems like the world at large just needs to shit ALL over me for some reason!  I don\’t \”expect\” anything in return for the things that I do, but it would be nice if things were running just a little more smoothly then they are at the moment.

I seemed to have \”mis-placed\” a dear friend, and this worries me!  By mis-placed I mean I haven\’t heard from them and while we don\’t have daily contact, certain turns of events have me concerned about their well being.  I hope I hear from them soon or I really will send out a missing persons report until I find them!

Woke up this morning to a wet bedroom floor!  My hot water tank started leaking who knows when.  Its in my fully carpeted bedroom which means I can\’t clean up the monsoon of water and I am a tad concerned about the floor getting moldy and possibly rotting underneath it.  I live in the sub basement so thankfully it won\’t cave into someone Else\’s apartment but still, I have major mold allergies and that\’s just NOT cool!  This of course has had me stressed out ALL day, so I shut off the breaker so that the elements weren\’t heating nothing at all but it would seem that the tank isn\’t empty so I turned the breaker back on just to see if I can at the very least take a shower!

I also happened to stumble upon this by chance, and its meant to be written in a sarcastic tone ( I felt compelled to point that out because some people just didn\’t seem to \”get it\”):

1) Being gay is not natural. Real people always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn\’t changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can\’t marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears\’ 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn\’t be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren\’t full yet, and the world needs more children.

7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That\’s why we have only one religion in the world.

9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That\’s why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven\’t adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

On a final note, its about damn time that gay marriage is legal in Vermont even though that one jackass senator (or whomever he is)  is SO vehemently opposed to it, he can go f**k himself!  The votes are in and YOU lost so 😛

Starting anew…

I\’ll be the first one to admit that i\’m pretty bad at keeping up with any blog I have ever had.  I still have one that I semi-contribute to  but that\’s (at least in my opinion) most worked based stuff that\’s geared towards the horrors of culinary life and smartass bitching and carrying on about whatever I feel compelled to bitch about that day.

I did at one point maintain an IAM page, but that too has lost its luster for me (long before Rachel took it upon herself to TOS me) and I felt myself updating there less and less and the \”community\” as a whole for me really lost its appeal and was only keeping it around for networking purposes only.

Anyway, moving along…  This is just for me and me alone, to post whatever the hell I feel like!  Thankfully its the long weekend this weekend so I get an extra day off this week YAY!  Nothing like having three days off in a row 🙂  Maybe I can finally get some work done for once.  I\’ve been slacking off terribly in that department I must admit, but my motivation to get things down has fallen to the wayside for a number of reasons.

Mostly because of me and partly because I need to get my staff organized and start \”assinging\” tasks so that this gets up and running faster then I would on my own.  In any case I got some things taken care of on my own.  I\’m rather impressed with myself for doing as much!  Somewhat goes with the saying if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself and so that\’s how its going to go (for some things at least)!

Today was nice, John came over for brunch and we just hung out and watched TV and took a nap on my couch this afternoon and had dinner later on.  I can\’t wait until its actually warmer out so that its a better incentive to actually go outside for a change!

Sometime this weekend I have to finish off the re-upholstering of my couch and the bench in my living room and start spring cleaning too.  My biggest priority though  is getting more work done on my site.  I decided that CSS is the way to go, as opposed to HTML.  A lot less code bloat and a cleaner appearance overall.  Going to be a pain in my ass to re-work the whole thing but in the end it will be far more worth it I think.  Thankfully for the most part I just need to build a template and do a whole lot of copy/paste with some minor formatting.   Aside from that, I don\’t plan on doing much but relaxing and of course trying to get my life in order which seems to be a never ending battle of sorts…

A multitude of epic FAILS!

Dear God, today has got to be by and large the MOST heinous day I\’ve had in a while! First off I find out my IAM page was TOS\’d for something I didn\’t do. That however doesn\’t surprise me as Rachel is a power hungry twat…

Then I discover that someone shouldn\’t be trusted anymore which REALLY sucks!

Then I *almost* forget that today was good Friday and the bus schedule had changed, that however wasn\’t an issue. Then I go to work, the place is a tad bit messy and I have an abundance of orders to contend with first thing in the AM. Nothing I love more then making a ton of quiche for other people first thing in the morning blah!

*On a side note, I hate when people pronounce it wrong! Its QUICHE not kish or my personal favorite: a Guiche which in case you didn\’t know is a male genital piercing and makes me laugh every single time I hear someone call it that!*

Then I discover we have a tea party today, which had gotten forgotten about. So Donna asked me if I would mind running to Couche tard to grab some bread so we can make the sandwiches and grab some snacks for her and myself. So off I go, get what I need and of course upon my horror discover that I totally forgot to bring money with me! So that was a little embarassing to say the least! Thankfully its not far and I know the guys that work there to, but still!

Today was crazy busy! It was a constand non stop stream of people today who wanted tea and scones. Which is a utter pain in the ass, tons of dishes and a lot of work and most of us hardly think its worth it. Lunch however went over really well (creamy dilled salmon with lemon rice) which was nice seeing as how my day had gone to shit in so many ways throughout the say.

So i\’m leaving work, forgot my dinner AND my pay ugrh! Thankfully Donna lives down the street and is willing to drop it off for me, bless her!

So anyway I get to the metro, almost home… Then I look up and the escalators are broken 😛 Now don\’t get me wrong I\’m not *THAT* lazy BUT… My knee was killing me, its been a long week and I was tired and St. Henri metro has a whole Lotta stairs! So thank God for Catholics because we score a long weekend which means not work for me on Monday but I still get paid, YAY!
